A Riot of Colour

I adore colour in flowers and get so excited when I get given an opportunity to really let loose. What an amazing, fun couple these two were to work with. Both Richard and Lydia loved flowers and wanted the very biggest boldest displays they could afford to make a real splash in the beautiful marquee at Nettlestead Place.

Nettlestead Place holds a special place in my heart as my own wedding reception was held there almost exactly 20 years ago, I love going back and never get tired of seeing it set up with stunning floral displays. Lydia and Richard had a church wedding in the quaint old village and ancient Church of East Sutton.

We made arrangements in the Church of purple and pink hydrangea, roses, lilies, lisianthus and spray roses in large urns that could later be transported to the reception.

At Nettlestead Place we hung huge chandeliers of hydrangea and roses with gorgeous green hanging amaranthus. The tables were adorned with decorations by Your Beautiful Day and we topped the decorative cloths with large glass vases filled with an array of bright fuchsia pink and purple flowers including phaleonopsis orchids, roses, lilies and hydrangea with hanging amaranthus.

The top table was filled with a selection of purple and bright pink glass vases filled with lilies, roses, orchids  placed along the entire length of the table.

The effect was really breathtaking, certainly one of my favourites this year.

Corrine from Corrine's cakes make a beautiful marble effect cake which was decorated with just a few of our flowers which looked beautiful against the grey.

Lydia carried a bouquet of mixed bright pink and purple flowers and the men's buttonholes were made with orchids and a touch of foliage.

Can you tell how much I loved seeing this come together? Always so many thanks go to the lovely couples who give me these oppotunities.
