'Hoppy' Ever After

We are always excited to be asked to provide something a bit out of the ordinary, and this was one such occasion. There are few more picturesque settings than Hever Castle to have a wedding and few more rewarding and sometimes challenging to decorate.

Davinia and Sam had a vision to hold a tudor style banquet under rambling archways of roses and hops.

Unfortunately the inclement day was disappointingly grey but the lovely light lemon colours Davinia chose for the bridesmaid's colours turned out to be the perfect colour to brighten up the mood.

We bought masses of lush green, fresh hop bines for the day. A team of us hoisted them up and around pillars and studded them with white hydrangeas. The bride's Mum Christine provided a milk churn with a rustic hand made sign saying ' Happiy ever after starts here' and we placed a few natural flowers and hops around the base and filled the two large urns that stand in breathtaking setting of the Loggia on the Lake.

We made and errected two, 3metre archways and filled and draped them with even more hops, eucalyptus, hydrangeas, roses and spray roses. On the long tressle tables we topped silver candlesticks with an organic style display of lemon and cream mixed summer flowers.

The effect was definitely stunning and all the time spent planning and preparing was well worth it. Thank you to all of my team who helped to put this together and to the lovely family who had the vision at the beginning.
